Human Skull - maxilla

The probes are pointing to the maxilla of each side of the skull. The maxillae are 2 fused bones that form the "upper jaw".

The maxillae partly form the boundaries of 3 cavities in the anterior part of the skull:

• the roof of the mouth (cavity).
• the floor and lateral wall of the nasal cavity.
• the wall of the orbit/eye socket (cavity).
