Human Skull - cranial floor

View: Let's call this an  "interior top-down view", which means that we have taken the skull cap off of the skull/cranium and are looking straight down (from a bird's eye view). This picture shows the entire cranial floor.

Observe that there are 3 distinct "seats" for the brain:

1) anterior cranial fossa (far left, deeply dented or cup-like area)
2) middle cranial fossa (dented area in the middle that looks like a pair angel wings)
3) posterior cranial fossa (far right, dented area that contains foramen magnum/huge hole)
